Will Steam automatically download the patch and apply? From what you said in your post it seems that it won't.. and I will need to manually verify game files/cache?

I really appreciate the prompt post release support. Thanks for adding in the new options and improved camera. Responding to the community like this means I'll definitely be looking out for future games by UFG.

hi i tried the patch but it still doesn't works but i like to give some info to devs and mods here.

day one on 21st august when i got the game it use to stuck at logo screen ,sometimes after 20 or 30 mins it starts but then freezes.

2 days ago i went to steam and click on sleeping dogs properties and untick in game steam community , voila the game starts in 2 to 3 secs and i can browse my menu . but new problem arise
when i start new game or check benchmark the game freeze for eternity.

i do not get any crash dumps or anything.

mods and devs if u read another thread a guy posted some steam files like steam.api.dll for windows installed in d or e or g drive , mine is installed on c , if u use that files and overwrite in steam folder it works , it did worked for some guys . so i guess the problem is something with steam and ur game connected to windows in some drive ?? i may be noob pls correct me . i am just trying to give some info.

i can browse my menu for long time without freeze thanks to un tick of steam community but cant start game or do benchmark , guys i suggest try this to check whether you go pass logo screen and do run the sleeping dogs.exe as administrator and xp service pack 3

my pc specs
windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
i3 2100 3.10 stock
4gb ram ddr3 1333hz
7850 2gb gddr5

Can you PLEASE take a look at my thread? You didn't fix our problem in this patch, you don't even mention it in the changelog so I think you either still working on it or you never will. Any words?

Hmmm, what am i missing? I don't understand this:

From the patch notes:
"New option added! Mouse Free Look: Enables/disables camera auto-centering behind the player when using the mouse and on foot"

This does nothing for me. With it enabled the game playes just like it did before. The camera starts autocentering as soon as you start moving. But not instantly, it never did that either. It slowly crept to behind your caracter. This has not changed.

With this option disabled, the game is totally unplayable (for me), with the camera re centering itself instantly .- boom.

So.. what am I doing wrong? Playing with the 1.5 patch installed, confirmed on the splash screen.
And option was added that made the game worse in this respect? With the option ON it's like before, re centering. And with disabled - it boom behind you instantly.

Camera seems better now, especially while driving, but the freezing and beeping of the mouse, in gun fights, is still there for me (unless I use one of the movement keys first which is pretty cumbersome)... :(
